Other Comments: Bert is a gorgeous boy who can be nervous of unknown people and dogs, so needs someone who is used to being a strong “pack leader” to keep him feeling safe. He’s very affectionate and loves having his belly/chest rubbed. He needs plenty of exercise and games to use his brain every day. He enjoys swimming within his depth in the river. He also enjoys training with carrot treats, his ball or squeaky bone and sticks. He’s happy just hanging out wherever his people are, whether it’s on a walk, in the car or just at home, but is also happy to be left on his own. Even if the door is left open he doesn’t run off, he’ll just wait patiently for his people. Bert’s new owner need to understand and be aware of his unease when unknown dogs enter his personal space.
New owners: Further socialisation training would be really worthwhile for both Bert and his new owners.
